1. Wash Less
Frequent washing wastes energy and harms our waterways. Whenever possible, wash your activewear once a week after training — otherwise, simply air it out and spot-clean stains by hand.
2. Skip the Dryer
The mechanical friction inside a dryer is one of the leading causes of microplastic pollution. Synthetic fabrics dry quickly on their own, so let your clothes air-dry instead.
3. Wash at Low Temperatures
Instead of washing at 104°F (40°C), 86°F (30°C) is usually enough. Avoiding high temperatures protects both your fabric's fibers and the environment.
4. Buy Better, Buy Less
What do you really need? When you buy activewear, choose quality pieces built to last. Take care of what you own — and when you're ready to let go of something, donate it or make sure it's recycled. Every purchase has an impact on our oceans.
5. Shorten Your Wash Cycles
The longer the wash, the more fibers break down. Every washing machine has a quick-cycle setting — use it.
6. Lower Your Spin Speed
The spin cycle creates significant friction, and synthetic fabrics dry fast anyway. Skip the spin cycle when you can, or reduce the RPM.
7. Sort by Color
Keep your colors separated — it helps your activewear last longer.
